Dr. Barry Whyte is a Nanaimo chiropractor who follows a top down approach to healing. Birgit completed her degree in Sports Medicine Physiotherapy from a Private University in Stuttgart, Germany. She then moved to Vancouver to further her experience in this field. Birgit's past experience has included working with one of the largest manufacturers of Prescription Foot Orthotics and Sports Medicine Devices. Her role included educating Medical Doctors, Orthopaedic Surgeons and other Sports Medicine Professionals in the diagnosis of various medical conditions and the treatment of using prescription foot orthotics and other medical apparatuses. Birgit is also is a certified Class IV Medical Laser Therapist since 2011.

She also worked with Everest and Jennings the first mass-manufacturer of wheelchairs. Again her role was in educating Medical Doctors and Physiotherapist in the treatment of sports injuries and permanent disabilities across Canadian hospitals and Rehabilitation Centers. In her career Birgit also had the opportunity to work with the Vancouver Canucks, BC Lions and the Rick Hansen Foundation.

Birgit enjoys helping every client who visits Atlas Chiropractic in Nanaimo and is amazed on a daily basis by the positive affects of Chiropractic Adjustments, Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, Nanaimo Shockwave Therapy and Custom Foot Orthotics on patient health and well being. Birgit has been in Nanaimo with her husband Barry and her two girls since 2006. Together they opened Atlas Chiropractic and Body Balance in 2008.

Cheryl A. Schmidt, RMT, graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in March of 1988. She has been providing Registered Massage Therapy in a variety of clinics , spas,and has had her own private practice for 26 years. Cheryl loves treating her patients with Swedish Massage Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy and Acupressure.
